Have you wanted to learn German for a while and are finally ready to get serious?
Or perhaps you’ve started learning German with Duolingo, Rosetta stone, etc., but find they’re not teaching you the ‘bigger picture’ of how German actually works.
Sometimes even finding a good German class locally can be challenging, though.
So, I created two resources to help guide you:
While there are no class offerings in Topeka proper, if you’re willing to drive over to Lawrence, the German School Of Northeast Kansas offers classes twice a year for 12 weeks for all ages.
Fall semester runs from September to early December and the spring semester typically starts toward the end of January through early May.
They teach using immersion methods where German is spoken ~90% of the time.

There’s no German school in Topeka. But, if you’re looking to get a degree, you can major in German at Washburn University. Washburn also partners with German universities so that you have an opportunity to study abroad.

If you’re considering getting a degree nearby, the University of Kansas offers a host of German courses down the road.
The only German club I’m aware of is via Topeka West High School. So, if you happen to be in high school, join up with them! Otherwise, it seems as if all the other German clubs here have dissipated.

Unfortunately, I can’t find a single private German teacher locally in Topeka. 😔
I’ve taught for years at a university, at a language school, and privately. I took all of my teaching experience and combined it into a 3-Step German learning process. Best of all, the 1st step is completely free.
