Have you wanted to learn German for a while and are finally ready to get serious?
Or perhaps you’ve started learning German with Duolingo, Rosetta stone, etc., but find they’re not teaching you the ‘bigger picture’ of how German actually works.
Sometimes even finding a good German class locally can be challenging, though.
So, I created two resources to help guide you:
Lincoln Land Community College is likely your best bet for a German class in Springfield. The class is ‘Conversational German’ and is taught by Janelle Voss. The course is on the lighter side and focuses on topics related to travel and basic vocabulary building.

The University of Illinois Springfield focus mainly on Spanish in their language department but they do offer several German classes.

Sadly, I can’t find anyone teaching privately in the Springfield area. 😔
The only German club I’m aware of is through District 186 and is for Highschoolers only.

I’ve taught for years at a university, at a language school, and privately. I took all of my teaching experience and combined it into a 3-Step German learning process. Best of all, the 1st step is completely free.
